The Scion FR-S and its twin the Subaru BRZ (now called the Toyota 86) are fantastic little sports cars. They pair excellent handling with an attractive design, all for a relatively affordable price. Heck, you can even find used examples for less than $15,000.

Unfortunately, neither Toyota nor Subaru ever released a version with significantly more power. For many enthusiasts, 200 horsepower (or 205 in the newest models) simply isn't enough. It's not that the stock cars are slow. They just aren't as quick as a lot of people would like them to be.

Adding forced induction solves this problem, but at the same time, neither a supercharger nor a turbocharger is cheap to install. Less expensive parts and a comprehensive engine tune can only add so much power. So is it actually worth it to spring for the supercharger?

The guys from Everyday Driver decided to find out. In their latest video, they took a tuned, naturally-aspirated FR-S and put it up against a supercharged one. Check out the comparison below to see which approach they decided is a better use of your money.
