Is it safe to leave the wireless charging on even when not using?

I've been turning the wireless charging off whenever I have my phone plug in but I'm curious would it cause any harm if I leave the wireless charging on all the time.

I don't even know why it has a button to turn on/off. None of my other vehicles with wireless charging have a button. It's just "on" all the time.

I've wondered the same thing. The only conclusion I can come up with is that it's there for people who don't want to constantly charge their phones while resting on that tray.
